Last  year, the new shape of Cartoons on the Bay had the effect of a stone thrown in a pond. The opening to the universes adjoining to animation, the new vocation to cross-media and the modern cut that began to look with professional admiration and not anymore with a know-it-all attutude to the world of fans and to the logic of marketing enthusiasmed many, surprised someone and, naturally, irritated some of the "purists".
Nowadays Cartoons on the Bay, at the second edition of the new course but at its 14th challenge through the years, represents an actual new landmark in the international panorama and claims with pride, and figures, the birthright of the interest towards cross-media that, all of a sudden, seems to have become the keyword of festivals that were, until yesterday, of a different mind.
The international television and multimedia animation festival that I have the privilege to direct, aware of the complexity of the path that has decided to follow and immune to the chant of the Sirens that would let you indulge in breathing and enjoy the success, is not willing to stop amaze you.
