Terre di Portofino

From Recco to Moneglia, the coast draws two big inlets, Paradiso Gulf and Tigullio Gulf, limited on the west side limited by the majestic Portofino Promontory and on the east side by Punta Manara. It’s a unique and extraordinary setting, in a typical Mediterranean style, characterized by tiny towns and seafaring villages, where the colours of the sea and lush vegetation reflect themselves in the architecture of the typical painted houses, and the brightness and freshness of air are tangible.
The greatness of Portofino Promontory, over 600 metres high, presents itself as real extension of the Appennino projected to the sea, strongly characterizing the panorama.
The high and jagged coast, interrupted by beaches and small harbours, offers extraordinarily beautiful scenarios that have contributed to make this coast reknown worldwide.
The numerous seaside towns still keep the typical look, strongly connected to the sea and fishing, and a long tradition of hospitality.

Rapallo

Located in the inner part of the Gulf, it is the most ancient centre of all. Numerous memories of the past like the Castle, built on the seaside in the XVI century as a fortress against the Saracens, or the Medieval Bridge, whose legend says Hannibal walked across it during the second punic war, or the numerous baroque bell towers stretching skywards. Rapallo has matured a deep tourist vocation since the second half of the XIX century, soon becoming an ideal destination and a favourite for celebrities, thanks to the mildness of its climate and the quality of its offer. An unparalleled tourist organization, made of prestigious hotels, restaurants, sport facilities, an 18-hole green, and the International Tourist Harbour Carlo Riva.

Portofino

The splendid Portofino Bay is set in the lush vegetation of the Promontory. A typical ligurian fishermen’s village, with its high and coloured houses set in a semicircle around the famous “Piazzetta”, it has become one the most reknown tourist places in the world. An exclusive destination, a must for international celebrities, where it is still anyway possible to immerse in an old atmosphere, made of seafaring traditions and patient handcrafting, where colours and perfumes of the ligurian land are highlighted at their very best. A visit to Chiesa di San Giorgio or Castello Brown, a stroll to the beacon or an excursion along the numerous paths up to the promontory and then down to San Fruttuoso, deliver unique emotions. The enchantment of the nature, bright and Mediterranean, is astonishing.

Santa Margherita Ligure

Of Roman origins, once a fishermen’s village, it has become an internationally reknown tourist destination, attracting prestigious guests since the second half of XIX century: royal families, important politicians and entrepreneurs, famous personalities of culture and performing arts. One of the most classic tourist destinations, the beauty of its setting is highlighted by the elegance of its characteristic houses, its villas and big hotels framing the Gulf. In its Romanesque and baroque churches, Villa Durazzo with its splendid park facing the sea and Abbazia della Cervara (Cervara Abbey), enchanting and full of history, Santa Margherita Ligure treasures artistic memories of immense value.
